Abstract art exhibition coming to the museum next week

The Sault Ste. Marie Museum is set to host Time in Colour, a solo exhibition by contemporary abstract artist and educator Chrissy Yendell. The exhibition will feature expressive acrylic and mixed media paintings inspired by the landscapes, seasons, and quiet rhythms of Northern Ontario.

Yendell's work explores the intersection of nature, memory, time, and femininity, using rich layers of colour, texture, and intuitive mark-making to create paintings that invite reflection and personal interpretation. Her artistic process is driven by a desire to capture the essence of human experience, rather than simply recreating the world around us.

The exhibition will showcase a new body of work reflecting Yendell's ongoing exploration of contemporary abstract painting, with each piece evolving through an intuitive process of layering colour, texture, and expressive markmaking. Visitors are invited to attend the Opening Reception and Meet the Artist event, where they can meet Yendell and enjoy refreshments.
