Art exhibition backs education for first-generation learners
A fundraising art exhibition, Paropakar 2026, is currently underway in Hyderabad, showcasing works by prominent Indian artists such as SH Raza, Akbar Padamsee, and Krishen Khanna. The exhibition aims to support the education of children from economically disadvantaged backgrounds through the non-profit institution Nachiketa Tapovan.
The event features a wide range of artworks, including artist-approved prints, serigraphs, etchings, ceramics, and sculptures, available across various price ranges. Proceeds from the exhibition will go towards establishing a new facility at Nachiketa Tapovan’s ashram, which will include science and computer laboratories, a library, and vocational training facilities.
The institution has been providing free education to children for over two decades, with a focus on the physical, intellectual, and emotional development of students. With nearly 90% of its students being first-generation learners, the institution adopts a value-based approach inspired by the teachings of Swami Vivekananda and Sarada Devi.
