Art exhibition marks Oxford Leiden city twinning links

The Kendrew Barn Gallery at St John’s College opens its doors from 4‑14 November for Verweven / Interwoven, a two‑week showcase that marks the historic twinning of Oxford and Leiden.

Organised by Robin Danely, the show unites fourteen artists from Oxford’s Magdalen Road Studios with two creators from Leiden’s Ars Aemula Naturae, presenting a range of painting, drawing, photography, textiles, ceramics and installation.

In addition to the contemporary works, a series of historic photographs documents eight decades of sport, cultural exchange and personal connections that have linked the two cities since 1946.

Open daily from noon to 6 pm, the exhibition is entirely self‑funded, a testament to the enthusiasm and friendship that sustain this cross‑border artistic collaboration.
