Artist Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel to attend cultural exchange, workshop in Italy

Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel will join a three‑day International Collaborative Art Performance & Sculpture Workshop in Venice from September 17‑20. The event, titled Art Beyond Borders: A Creative Dialogue Between India and Italy, brings together a dozen Indian artists from across the subcontinent with leading European creators, aiming to turn studio practice into a conduit for cultural exchange.

The program sits within a wider fifteen‑day European study tour that threads through France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and Italy, with stops at iconic sites such as the Louvre, the Van Gogh Museum, the Sistine Chapel, the Accademia Gallery and the Colosseum. These visits promise a direct encounter with the masterpieces of Leonardo, Michelangelo, Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Picasso, feeding the participants’ own artistic vocabularies.

Patel, a Kalaburagi‑based photographer and visual artist, carries a résumé that includes the National Lalit Kala Award, a CCRT National Fellowship from the Ministry of Culture and a senior fellowship from the Karnataka Lalit Kala Academy. His own gallery, museum and research centre underscore a commitment to preserving and reinterpreting Deccan heritage.

By moving from the Deccan plateau to the canals of Venice, Patel embodies a living dialogue between two rich artistic histories, inviting audiences in both regions to see familiar narratives refracted through new, collaborative lenses.
