Best frames from India on display
The exhibition at State Lalit Kala Akademi in Lucknow showcases 228 works by selected and award‑winning photographers from across India, open to the public until Oct 10, 10 am–5 pm.
The Akademi received 167 entries. A selection committee comprising Anil Risal Singh, Radhakrishna Ganesan and Kumar Jigyasu shortlisted portfolios of 32 photographers, and five additional portfolios were chosen for awards, bringing the total to 37 participants.
The Outstanding Portfolio Award, accompanied by a Rs 20,000 cash prize, was conferred on Happy Mukherjee of Hooghly, Ajayesh Jaiswal of Lucknow and Krishna Singh of Varanasi.
Director Amit Kumar Agnihotri remarked that the show reflects the growing engagement with photography as an independent visual art form and offers viewers a glimpse of contemporary photographic expression from across the country.
