Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery to host faculty art -- Sentinel Watch
The Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery at Lorain County Community College is hosting its biennial Visual Arts Faculty Showcase, a free public exhibition that runs through October 3. The show invites visitors to step inside the studios of fourteen faculty artists and experience a cross‑disciplinary mix of graphic design, ceramics, photography, drawing, painting and printmaking.
Among the participating creators are Brad Blahnik, Bridget Caswell, Donna Coleman, Renata Courey, Joshua Eiskamp, Christian Fredriksen, Leigh Hughes, Michael Kodysz, Diane Marrapese, Eric Mindek, Patricia Rooker, Catherine Rozmarynowycz, Amy Sedlak, and Matthew Sugerik. Their works range from sleek digital compositions to tactile ceramic vessels, offering a snapshot of the faculty’s personal practice beyond the classroom.
The exhibit doubles as a teaching tool. Instructors regularly bring their classes to the gallery for guided tours, private critiques, and live demonstrations, allowing students to witness the creative process in real time. As faculty member Joshua Eiskamp notes, seeing professors actively working reinforces the notion that a sustainable career in the arts is attainable.
Open weekdays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and during evening performances, the gallery welcomes anyone interested in exploring the vibrant artistic community that fuels LCCC’s visual arts program.
