Boulder funds 8 neighborhood art projects with $30,000
Boulder Office of Arts and Culture's Creative Neighborhoods Program has allocated $30,000 to eight resident‑led initiatives that will embed visual art, sculpture, performance, and community gathering spots across the city.
Visual works include a mural by Chandler Condon at Ruzo Coffee portraying a Japanese tea farm framed by the Flatirons, a vibrant shed mural by Nicole Cardelfe along the Table Mesa school route, and a new metal sculpture by Michael Deragisch celebrating local community spirit.
Hands‑on projects feature Dennis Mulherin and Nikki Nichols constructing a painted “Community Seed Shed” with bench and bulletin board for gardening enthusiasts, and a collaborative series of 20 birdhouses built by a North Boulder woodworker for a neighborhood‑wide birdhouse walk.
Performance elements include Kristen Mylander’s shadow‑puppet shows at Salberg Park with craft activities for kids, a dance exhibition by Mary Wohl Haan, and an outdoor concert by SUPA! Marimba at Tantra Park on Aug. 21. All projects must conclude by Sept. 30, 2027, with the next funding cycle opening in May 2027.
