Cleveland's HEDGE Gallery to host 'Servitude' art exhibition in October

Painter and printmaker Sarah Curry returns to Cleveland with her new show Servitude at HEDGE Gallery. The exhibition, opening officially on October 16, delves into the quiet politics of domestic life, labor, and the expectations that shape everyday routines.

Alongside Curry’s paintings, mono‑prints and sculptures, the show features contributions from nine regional women artists—including Denise Buckley, Pita Brooks, Libby Chaney, Amy Copeland, Phyllis Fannin, R. Lee Gamble, Shannon Morris, LaSaundra Robinson and Ginny Wallace‑Curry—creating a chorus of perspectives that amplify the central themes. The preview on October 14 offers a first glimpse of this collaborative dialogue.

Curry, a longtime art educator at Brush High School and a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute and Case Western Reserve University, brings a seasoned voice to the conversation. Her work already belongs to collections such as the Akron Art Museum and The Dalad Group, underscoring the relevance of her latest inquiry. The gallery, located at 1300 W. 78th St., Suite 200, provides an intimate setting for the show’s reflective tone.
