Exquisite artwork on display at exhibition
The State Lalit Kala Akademi in Lucknow opened “Kala Acharya,” an exhibition that brings together works by art teachers from the Lucknow‑Prayagraj region. Over 56 pieces spanning drawing, painting, graphics, sculpture, folk art and photography fill the galleries.
Among the contributors are Rajendra Prasad, Dr. Sunita Sharma, Prof. Umesh Kumar Saxena, Prof. Sunil Kumar Saxena, Harimohan Singh, Dr. Angad Verma and Ravindra Nath Kushwaha. Their creations range from delicate sketches to bold installations, reflecting the breadth of fine and visual arts taught across the districts.
A standout folk painting titled “Menka” captures a woman waiting by a river, her tears merging with the water in a tender metaphor. Another canvas, dominated by greens and blues, celebrates the planet’s varied vegetation and river systems, offering a vibrant ecological statement.
Visitor Malini Jamwal remarked on the “unconventional ideas conveyed through the paintings,” underscoring the exhibition’s fresh perspective. The show remains open daily from 11 am to 5 pm until 1 October.
