Kilmarnock family to launch first art exhibition together
The Sutton family of Kilmarnock is turning heads with their first joint exhibition, a vibrant collection of drawings and paintings that celebrate the rugged charm of the Cumbraes.
Centered on Great Cumbrae, Little Cumbrae and the surrounding islets, the show—titled For the Love of the Cumbraes—opens at The Garrison in Millport and will run from 26 September to 31 October.
The trio—father Harry, son Jack and mother Audrey, who only picked up a brush after retiring from the council—bring distinct perspectives yet a shared affection for the islands. Audrey’s rapid development, Jack’s playful banter about “unsolicited advice,” and Harry’s seasoned hand create a lively dialogue across the walls.
Locals and visitors alike are invited to explore this family‑driven homage to the archipelago, a rare moment where three generations exhibit side by side.
