Lacey Township Arts Group Offers Tiny Art Gallery To Community
In the past two years the recreation department of Lacey Township has turned its attention to the visual arts, spawning the Lacey Arts Community that has begun to showcase local talent in public spaces.
A standout initiative is a “tiny art gallery” conceived and constructed by carpenter‑builder Dan Krupinski. Using salvaged window sashes, double‑pane glass and metal cladding, he created a lightweight (110 lb), weather‑proof, fold‑out case that lets works be attached with magnets.
Krupinski is donating the structure to the township so it can be placed wherever officials deem appropriate, offering a portable platform for rotating exhibitions. The first show is slated for January, with additional displays planned through February and March.
The township will host a Meet the Makers open house on Sept. 29 at the Charles A. Smith Community Center, where about 15 local artists will demonstrate their process and answer questions.
