Lifelike Princess Kate cake heading for Birmingham

Emma Jayne Morris, a 56‑year‑old baker from Aberdare, has turned the art of cake decorating into a hyper‑realistic portrait of Princess Kate. The sculpted head, built from Rice Krispies, marshmallows and two kilograms of modelling chocolate, looks startlingly lifelike, inviting visitors to pause and compare it with the real royal.

The two‑week project consumed roughly 50 kg of sugarpaste, rainbow dust sparkles and countless meticulous hand‑carved details, from the delicate earrings to the signature hairstyle. Morris describes the process as a labor of love, recounting how she reshaped the nose multiple times before achieving the final likeness.

The finished piece will debut at Cake International in Birmingham’s NEC on 6 November, offering fans a chance to stand beside a confectionary rendering of the Duchess of Cambridge. It joins a growing portfolio of royal‑inspired edible art that bridges culinary skill and pop‑culture fascination.
