More than 70 artists transform hospital into immersive art exhibition

More than seventy artists have turned the former St. Vincent Medical Center into a sprawling, emotion‑driven installation called Hospital of Emotions. Across four floors and eighty reimagined rooms, each space is devoted to a single feeling—joy, love, fear, anger, hope, sadness, gratitude, and resilience—inviting visitors to wander through operating theatres, patient wards and nurses’ stations that pulse with colour, sound and narrative.

The creators worked within the building’s existing architecture, letting the stark clinical backdrop amplify the artworks’ storytelling power. By preserving corridors and treatment rooms, the exhibition blurs the line between healing space and artistic sanctuary, turning everyday medical environments into immersive emotional landscapes.

For the Halloween season the project adds two extra experiences. After Dark dims the lights and populates the halls with roaming characters and surprise encounters, while Below ventures into the basement for a more unsettling journey of eerie imagery, sudden sounds and confined passages—an area previously off‑limits to the public.

Since its debut in May 2026, the show has been extended twice and will remain open through early January, a testament to its popularity and the compelling way it reframes a place of care into a canvas for the full spectrum of human feeling.
