New Art Exhibition Will Takeover Vacant Midtown Building: Learn More
A vacant office tower at Madison Avenue and 39th Street has been turned into a sprawling art exhibition. The 23,000‑square‑foot, 14th‑floor space and the former street‑level retail area of 260 Madison will host more than 50 artists from around the world, opening on September 24.
Co‑curated by Dayana Matasheva, Edson Niebla Rodríguez and Shaina Tabak, the show weaves sculpture, new media and video into the building’s own history, using remnants of its past as a backdrop for works that probe control, surveillance, artificial intelligence and the infrastructures that shape daily life.
The roster balances heavyweight names such as Matt Mullican, Jon Kessler, Simon Denny, Josh Kline, Eva and Franco Mattes, Rachel Rossin, Liz Magic Laser, Leigh Ledare, David Humphrey and Michelle Segre with a vibrant group of emerging voices, creating a dialogue between generations.
Running through November 22, 2026, the exhibition is free and open to the public, inviting visitors to wander the reimagined office floors and contemplate the systems that govern how we work, move and exist.
