New Encore Mt. Morris exhibit features 4 generations of art
The Encore Mt. Morris Art Gallery is set to unveil an extraordinary exhibit showcasing four generations of art from the Mann family. The family's artistic legacy began with Heathcote “Hec” Mann, who arrived in Mt. Morris in 1915 and became a renowned authority on print layouts, as well as a skilled cartoonist and designer.
The exhibit features over 100 years of artwork from the Mann family, including Hec and his wife Trine, who were an artistic power couple of their era. Their descendants, including Eric, Nancy, Chris, Cecilia, Ellen, and Jeff Mann, have all contributed to the family's artistic heritage. The exhibit is a diverse collection of drawings, paintings, graphic design, photographs, fine art prints, and three-dimensional works such as quilts, resin art, and pottery.
The Encore Mt. Morris Art Gallery, located in College Hall, will be open every Friday and Saturday in August, coinciding with the free Mt. Morris Jamboree and Strawfest concerts. Admission to the gallery is free, and donations are welcome.
