Peg's Foundation Hudson: Special Tiffany window exhibit open
Peg’s Foundation in Hudson has turned its modest gallery into a sanctuary for art and conversation about mental health. The latest showcase, Higher Ground, places a rescued 1917 Tiffany stained‑glass window at the heart of the show, inviting visitors to contemplate survival and renewal.
The monumental window, depicting the Transfiguration of Jesus, escaped the 2018 blaze that gutted St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Akron. After being salvaged by a local developer and a volunteer restoration group, the 14‑by‑11‑foot piece was rehoused in reclaimed wood framing and now commands a sunlit space in the foundation’s first‑floor gallery.
Curated alongside works by regional creators, the exhibit weaves themes of resilience, recovery and transformation—mirroring Peg’s Foundation’s long‑standing focus on mental‑health support. Prints, sculptures, architectural models and a short documentary all echo the window’s story of rebirth.
Open to the public at 53 First Street, the gallery welcomes visitors Monday through Saturday, with free admission through Jan. 30. The space also serves as a gathering point for support groups, making art a bridge between aesthetic wonder and healing dialogue.
