Pickle Corn Maze + Minnesota Sushi on a Stick at Big Springs Farm
Big Springs Farm has turned its annual corn maze into a full‑blown pickle celebration, stretching over ten acres of crisp autumn corn. The labyrinth is peppered with dill‑themed clues and a towering 10‑foot sculpture affectionately called The Big Dill, making every turn feel like a whimsical tribute to the humble cucumber.
Food lovers will find the menu just as playful. From pickle‑lemonade slushies and a double‑dill, double‑cheese grilled cheese to a light pickle‑infused beer, the farm leans into the brine. The standout snack is the so‑called “pickle roll‑up” – a slice of ham wrapped around pickle and cream cheese, jokingly dubbed Minnesota Sushi on a stick, perfect for wandering the maze.
Navigating the maze can be a simple stroll to twelve checkpoints, a whodunit mystery about a missing farmer, or a high‑tech GPS‑guided trek via QR code. A lookout tower offers a brief respite, and for the brave, after‑dark flashlight maze nights on select October evenings add a thrilling, non‑haunted twist.
Beyond the corn, the farm packs more than thirty activities: a 200‑foot mini zipline, giant slides, a jump pad, duck races, a paintball range, hayrides, and a one‑acre mini maze. Pumpkin enthusiasts can wander among nearly 150 varieties of pumpkins, squash, gourds, sunflowers, and a cut‑your‑own flower garden.
The farm welcomes visitors on Saturdays and Sundays through November 1, with additional hours during the MEA weekend. Gates open at 10 a.m. and close at 5 p.m.; admission is $13 online, $14 at the gate, with a $25 season pass for repeat adventurers.
