Sounds of August include two classy classical music series and jazz in a new art gallery in CT

This summer, Connecticut is hosting a range of exciting classical and jazz concerts that promise to delight music lovers. The Music Mountain Summer Festival is featuring a special three-part series called The Clarinet Quintet Project, which showcases the talents of concert clarinetist Oskar Espina Ruiz alongside other renowned musicians.

The series includes performances by the Erinys Quartet, The Ulysses Quartet, and the Cassatt String Quartet, with works by famous composers such as Mozart, Schubert, and Schumann, as well as world premieres by contemporary composers. Meanwhile, the Underwater Kite Contemporary Art Center in Windsor is launching a new jazz concert series, featuring local and international jazz musicians, including Nat Reeves, Joe Carter, and Warren Byrd.

The Connecticut Virtuosi is also presenting a summer classical concert series at the First Presbyterian Church in Hartford, with performances by pianist Ina Jun, violinist Brunilda Myftaraj, and cellist Zachary Sears, among others. These concerts offer a unique opportunity to experience the beauty of classical and jazz music in intimate and historic settings, making for a truly unforgettable summer experience.
