Shree’s palette bursts with blues, golds and vivid hues, yet the compositions expose a stark contrast: glittering uniforms beside tired bodies, a blue‑and‑gold piece showing a band trudging back after a procession, and a close‑up of worn golden shoes that speak of exhaustion beneath the sparkle.
In a time when live ensembles are giving way to DJs, the artist captures a vanishing tradition with empathy and urgency. Curated by Vandana Sehgal, the exhibition also attracted civic attention, underscoring how these musicians’ precarious livelihoods deserve both artistic and public recognition.
