Splendid art exhibition launched at Coopera Art Gallery
The Visual Arts Department of Government Graduate College for Women unveiled a vibrant show at Coopera Art Gallery, showcasing roughly seventy works created by faculty members and the graduating batch of 2022‑26. The selection ranges from experimental materials to thought‑provoking themes, offering a snapshot of contemporary practice within the campus.
The opening was marked by the presence of painter and educator Prof. Rahat Naveed Masud, who praised the exhibition’s role in nurturing emerging talent. Dr. Nighat Naheed Zafar, the college principal, also highlighted the diversity of techniques on display, underscoring the importance of such public platforms.
Curated by Prof. Sarosh Tariq, head of the department, and supported by gallery director Muhammad Javed, the show aims to bridge the gap between academic training and the broader art community. Their remarks emphasized a commitment to fostering appreciation for both visual art and literature.
A lively audience of artists, teachers, students, and art enthusiasts filled the gallery, reflecting strong community engagement. Faculty participants such as Sarosh Tariq, Farah Ahmad, Ghazala Anjam, Sadia Qutb, Nomana Masood and Uzma Munir joined forces with final‑year students including Momna Rafique, S. Mehak Fatima, Ayesha Bibi, and others, creating a rich dialogue across generations.
The exhibition remains open daily, except holidays, from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM and will run through 30 September 2026.
