The special Coventry exhibition teaching kids about courage, kindness and understanding who you are
The Herbert Art Gallery & Museum in Coventry is hosting Sikh Stories in Colour, an interactive exhibition that brings Sikh history and identity to life for children and families.
Created by the local collective IM1313, founded by Pritpal Singh Rai, the show uses characters, illustrations, music, film and animation to turn heritage into a language children already love. The narratives celebrate universal values—courage, kindness, equality and self‑discovery—so visitors of any background can see themselves in the stories.
Since its launch, the project has amassed around 20 million views online, appeared on national television and partnered with illustrator Ben Barter. The exhibition runs from 13 – 25 October 2026 and welcomes schools, families and all curious visitors.
